外国人の【氏名】を不動産登記簿にどう登記するか。実務では結構困るケースあります。アルファベットで氏名の登記できない。これは困ります。こんな時はカタカナで登記します。ここで困るのが、住民票にアルファベット表記が無い場合です。国によって同じ綴りでもは発音が違う場合・・・マイケル・・・ミハエル・・・などなど。こんな時はその他の証明書や身分証を確認します。本人にも発音を確認します。国際化が進む昨今、アルファベットでの登記が認められるとよいなと期待しています。

In Japan, each real estate has detail data base which is controlled by Japanese government. In this data base, there are description of real estate, name of owner, address of the owner and the right which set for this property like mortgage and so on. 

Then there is one problem. When we register the ‘’Name’’ of owner, alphabet is not accepted. Only Japanese language can be accepted. So, in your certificate of address, there is your name which has description in Japanese KATAKANA, there is no problem. But there is not this kind of information, we need to refer the other certification or ID cards. Of course, we have to ask this person how they pronounce.

We are in the globalism, so we hope this will change and become better.
